Phyllis Joan Ward Ankeny, Iowa Phyllis Joan Ward, 84, was born March 11, 1937, to Ruby (Kelly) and Russell Price in Boone, Iowa. She passed away peacefully January 23, 2022, at the Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. Joan loved to see young children and babies; they always gave her a smile. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, trips to Las Vegas and listening to Elvis. She is survived by her children, Randy (Sue) Garvey, Kenni Jo Ghee, Michael (Kimberly) Ward; 9 grandchildren: Ben (Courtney) Ghee, Nathan (Vinitza) Garvey, Nicci Ghee, Holly Garvey, Jed Garvey, Scott (Stacey) Garvey, Dillon Ghee, Glenn Ward, and Gregory Ward; 8 great grandchildren; her sister, Jeannie Lane; brother, Robert Price; and many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Greg; her significant other, Ken Wolfe; six sisters and one brother. A Celebration of her Life will be at 10 AM, Thursday, January 27, 2022, at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be 4PM – 6PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022, followed by a prayer service at 6PM at the church. Burial will be 1:30 PM at the Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Sunny View Activities Department, 410 NW Ash Drive, Ankeny, Iowa 50023, in appreciation for all the loving care that was given to Mom over the years.
