Lloyd Cook Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lloyd Cook Junior, 93 of Des Moines passed away peacefully Thursday, July 28, 2022 at EdencCrest at The Legacy in Norwalk, Iowa. Lloyd was born December 18th,1928 in Des Moines Iowa, son of Lloyd Cook Sr. and Edith May Marsh. He married Donna L Allee on December 31, 1947 in Des Moines Iowa. Lloyd attended Abraham Lincoln High School. Lloyd had a successful career for 43 years as a head pressman for Meredith Printing and Meredith Burda in Des Moines. After retirement, Lloyd and Donna traveled and he loved spending time tending to his roses and garden. Lloyd is preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna of 74 years; son’s, Bill (Maggie) Cook, Bob Cook, Gary Cook; his daughter's, Susan Parker ( Pat) and Sharon Fortune (Keith McElldery); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. His brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Judy Cook (family) of Edmond Oklahoma. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 3 PM to 5 PM Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the Sunset Memorial Chapel 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, IA 50321. A private grave site service at Sunset Memorial Garden will be at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff and the nurses at EdenCrest at The Legacy and Kindred Hospice for the loving care that they provided to Lloyd. All floral deliveries may be made to the Sunset Chapel.
