Jim Tiernan was born April 19, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Kavanagh House, from complications of brain cancer. Jim worked in cars sales for many years, for the past five years he was the owner of Escape Lounge in Johnston. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and riding his Harley. Jim lived every day to the fullest, always with a smile on his face. He is survived by his children, Emily (Jeremy) Heuton, Amy (Rob) Nentl and Jimmy (Courtney) Tiernan; his grandchildren, Steven and Isaac Heuton; brother, Jack (Juley) Tiernan; sister, Kelly Tiernan and half-sister, Lisa; mother of his children, Mary Tiernan; several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” Tiernan and mother, Dorothy “Jane” Burns. Memorial Services will be held 6:00 PM, December 30, 2013 at the Point of Grace Church in Waukee, with Pastor Wayne Mullen, officiating. Family will visit with friends following services.
