Gregory S. Wycoff

November 3, 1971 - April 22, 2015

Gregory S. Wycoff, 43, passed away on April 22, 2015 after a long , courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born to Steve and Jeannine Wycoff on November 3, 1971 and raised on a small farm in Nevada, Iowa. Greg graduated from Nevada High School, earning 15 out of 16 letters for his athletic accomplishments. He attended Simpson College on a football Scholarship and obtained his Bachelors of Arts degree and Greg continued his education while employed with Maytag and achieved a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Greg received great joy coaching his children in their athletic activities. He will always be remembered for his positive attitude, strong faith, and inspirational life experiences. Greg is survived by his parents, Steve & Jeannine (Burr) Wycoff; his wife of 17 years, Christy; three children, Taylor, Sydney and Carson; two siblings, brother, Joe (Jennifer) Wycoff of Fairview, Texas and sister, Marcie (Scott) Horn of Onalaska, Wisconsin; grandmother, Mary Wycoff; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herschel Wycoff; maternal grandparents, Emmert & Ellowene Burr and one uncle, Bill Burr. Visitation with the family present will be Friday, April 24, 2015 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 SW Walnut St., Ankeny, Iowa, following the services there will be a luncheon. Burial will take place at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Kingdom Cares International, 6095 NE Industrial Drive, Des Moines, Iowa, in loving memory of Greg.
