Marty John Huisman

Marty John Huisman 1969 - 2022 Marty John Huisman,52, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away peacefully after having a stroke on January 21, 2022. Born in Worthington, Minnesota June 3, 1969, to Donald and Karon Huisman. Marty grew up in Moravia, Iowa moving to Baxter, Iowa his senior year and graduating from Baxter High School in 1987. Marty was fun-loving, bringing lots of laughs and joy to those around him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and fishing. Marty was a dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan, a member of the Mason Lodge and a volunteer for the Baxter Fire dept in his younger years. He was a hardworking, Journeyman Carpenter employed by Doors Inc. for 16 years. Marty will never be forgotten and will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Karon Huisman. He is survived by his father, Donald Huisman; wife, Teresa Carr; son, Corbin Huisman (Lauren); stepson, JR Burgett; stepdaughter, Lisa Groen; sisters, Patty (Mike) Smith, JoDee (Troy) Buis, and Shari (Kevin) Butler; niece, Jessica Buis; nephews, Justin Smith, Tanner Buis, Conner Butler, and Jarett Butler; grandchildren, Brooklynn Brown, Paxton Ross (his fishing buddy) Paisley Ross and Gracelynn Groen. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, February 11, 2022, at The Bridge Church 10025 NW 62nd Avenue, Johnston, Iowa 50131. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 – 3:00pm until service time at the church. Memorial may be made to the family in loving memory of Marty.
